Description
Programme from the 156th Celebration of the Hereford Musical Festival, Hereford Cathedral (11/9/1879). Selection from the Oratorio, The Light of the World, by Sullivan. Complete text is given, with the name of the soloist by every recitative and aria. No conductor named. Contains a list of instrumentalists, with the chorus coming from Worcester, Gloucester, Hereford, Bradford, Durham, Windsor, &c.
Soloists: Mr. W.H. Cummings, Madame Patey, Miss Emma Thursby, Mr. Barton McGuckin, Mr. Santley, Rev. J.H. Lambert. Also includes a programme for Hayden's Imperial Mass, with soloists Anna Williams, Madame Enriquez, Barton McGuckin, and Thurley Beale.
