Description
The fifth in a collection of 7 boxes of concert programmes from the Albi Rosenthal collection. The vast majority of programmes from the collection are from performances in and around Oxford, including various organisations, such as Oxford University Orchestra, Oxford Bach Choir, Oxford Subscription Concerts, and Lincoln College concert series. There are also a few programmes from London and abroad (France, Switzerland and Germany) held within their own separate box. The boxes in this collection are organised as follows:

3. Oxford programmes Misc. 2 (1980-2004, Boars Hill Association and Oxford Posters)
4. Oxford University Opera Club (1925 - 1987)
5. Churchill Memorial Concerts (1968 - 1998)
6. Oxfordshire, GB, London and the Rest of the world (1926 - 2018)

This box contains concert programmes, posters and tickets for performances given by the Churchill Memorial Club at Blenheim Palace between 1969 - 1998, usually in March (the first few took place in May). Also included are 2 sets of minutes from 19th January 1981 and 26th January 1982 addressed to Maud (Albi’s Wife) and two requests for adverts for the 24th and 27th concerts and a small amount of tickets for different concerts. The programmes are organised chronologically,
There are 2 sets of concert programmes included in the collection. A set of smaller 3-page leaflets announcing the pieces to be performed in the programme with an attached ‘application for tickets’ form. These programmes date from “The Fifth Churchill Memorial Concert” on 17th May 1970 to the “The Twenty-Eighth Churchill Memorial Concert” on 5th March 1994 (this excludes the 6th, 15th, 21st, 24th-27th memorial concert programmes).
The other set of concert programmes are larger souvenir style programmes detailing the pieces, performers, committee and including adverts. These date from “The Fourth Churchill Memorial Concert” on 18th May 1969 - “The Thirty-Second Churchill Memorial Concert” on 7th March 1998 (Excluding the 8th - 14th, 24th, 26th - 27th, 29th - 31st).
A set of posters is also included which advertises the Centenary (9th concert, 1974), 10th, 13th, 18th, 19th, 21st and 23rd Churchill Memorial Concerts.
