Description
A collection of programmes or meetings of the Wells Harmonic Society held at the Town Hall, Wells, for eight seasons, 1847-5. The collections consists of one volume, with four programmes per season.
Programmes typically fall into two parts, with an overture at the beginning and a selection of songs, glees and chamber muisc. Words are included, but there are no details of performers. Each concert ended with the National Anthem.
A slip is inserted with the programme for 23 November 1852 states that 'The Dead March in Saul' would be performed in addition to the advertised programme in memory of the Duke of Wellington.
