Description Towards the Millennium Festival was an annual cross-art form festival that took place each Spring from 1991-2000. originating from an idea shared by Simon Rattle, Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the late Michael Vyner, it involved Birmingham's leading arts organisations co-ordinated by the City Council [led by Head of Arts, Anthony Sargent] in collaboration with the South Bank Centre, London, London Sinfonietta, and St. David's Hall, Cardiff. It highlighted a successive decade of the 20th century.
The collection includes published programmes, flyers and posters from the programmes of talks and events organized by Birmingham Library Services and administrative papers from 1992-2000.
