Description A collection of two boxes of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1951. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The majority of collection consists of programmes from London (particularly the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall) and from the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. A number of programmes are from events given as part of the Festival of Britain. The contents of the collection are as follows:

London (including Greater London):
Royal Festival Hall – 35 programmes

Royal Albert Hall – 39 programmes, 3 prospectuses
These include programmes from the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts, Summer season (7 programmes; 2 prospectuses (one is annotated)) as well as programmes from the winter season of Promenade Concerts (3 programmes; 1 prospectus).

The collection also contains a programme from the Canongate Parish Church, Edinburgh, as well as programme given by the Edinburgh University Musical Society at an unspecified venue.

St. Andrew’s Hall – 10 programmes
These are programmes from concerts given by the Scottish National Orchestra.
