Description A collection of two boxes of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1949. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Royal Albert Hall – 63 programmes; 3 prospectuses; 1 leaflet
Includes programmes from the summer season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts (12 programmes; 2 annotated prospectuses) and from the winter season of Promenade Concerts (2 programmes; 1 prospectus). The collection also includes four programmes from BBC Symphony Concerts as well as four programmes from concerts organised by the Henry Wood Concert Society. There are also three programmes from the Elgar Festival.

The majority of programmes are from concerts organised by the Edinburgh Concerts Society; of these, a significant amount are orchestral concerts given by the Scottish National Orchestra.
