Description A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1935. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Queen’s Hall – 16 programmes; 1 prospectus
The prospectus covers the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts.

Victoria and Albert Museum; Woodford Green Union Church; 9 St. Mary Abbots Place, Kensington; Caxton Hall; Central Hall, Westminster; Merchant Taylors’ Hall; Palladium (3); Guildhall School of Music; London Musical Club; Cowdray Hall, Cavendish Square (2); Royal Albert Hall (3); Grotrian Hall (2); Oxford and Cambridge Musical Club [6 Bedford Square, Camden]; Wigmore Hall.

In addition, there are two London Orchestra Guides – monthly concert listings covering various venues in London. There are also two guides entitled “Music in London”. These weekly publications list all types of classical concerts.

There is also a programme from a Balliol College Music Society programme, which probably took place in the Hall in Balliol College, Oxford. There is also a programme from the series “Derby Municipal and County Chamber Concerts”, where the concert venue is not specified.
