Description A collection of one box from the McCann collection, from 1926. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Queen's Hall – 10 programmes

Royal Albert Hall – 11 programmes
The collection includes five programmes from the series entitled "Special Sunday Concerts", and five programmes from the series entitled "London Ballad Concerts". In addition, the collection contains one programme from a series entitled “National Concerts”: this series was started on 30/09/1926. The concerts were not "National" in the sense of being British – the specially amassed choir and orchestra were conducted by both British and continental conductors, and the music performed was in the main not British – as much as their broadcasts on national radio, which were designed to enable the whole country to hear the concerts.

Edinburgh:
Usher Hall – 12 programmes
The programmes are from concerts given as part of the concert series "Paterson's Concerts". These were orchestral concerts given by the Scottish Orchestra.

Llandudno:
Pier Pavilion – 11 programmes
The programmes are from orchestral concerts, given by an orchestra entitled either the "Pier's Company Orchestra" or the "Pier Orchestra".

There are programmes from concerts organised by the "Ross Music Club", "Trowbridge Philharmonic Society" and the "Walsall Philharmonic Society", where the venue has not been specified. There is also a programme from a concert in Leamington, where the exact venue has not been specified. There is a programme from a tour by the Savoy-Orpheans (an "augmented symphony orchestra"): this tour covers five provincial venues. There are four other programmes where either the concert venue is not specified, or the programme is used for a multi-venue tour.
