Collection name McCann Collection: United Kingdom (1914-1915)

Description A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1914 to 1915. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Queen's Hall – 18 programmes
The collection includes two programmes from "Promenade Concerts".

Royal Albert Hall – 28 programmes
The collection includes 16 programmes from "London Ballad Concerts" and six programmes from "Sunday Concerts". There are also three programmes from a season of promenade concerts: these were organised and conducted by Thomas Beecham and Landon Ronald.

Aeolian Hall – 17 programmes

Bechstein Hall – 6 programmes

In addition there is a photostat of London recitals given under the management of Daniel Mayer during 1914. The list contains details of concerts given at the Bechstein Hall, Aeolian Hall and Queen's Hall.

Bournemouth:

Winter Gardens and Pier – 10 programmes
There are ten programmes from concerts given by the Municipal orchestra, at both the Winter Gardens and Pier.
