Collection name McCann Collection: Miscellaneous (1945-1953)

Description One scrapbook of concert and theatre programmes. The volume is inscribed “Theatre & Concert Programmes, Vol VIII, Jan. 1945 – Dec. 1953”. There is also details of a name and address, presumably of the programmes collector.

The volume chiefly contains programmes from plays, musical comedies and opera. However there is a small amount of programmes from concerts. These are largely from orchestral concerts, and include the following:
Pavilion, Bournemouth – Hallé Orchestra (1947)
“Popular concert”, no venue (1947)
Palace Court Theatre, “Bournemouth Amateur Concert” (1948)
“Orchestral Concert”, no orchestra name/venue (1948 - 2 programmes)
“Orchestral Concert” - no orchestra name/venue (1949)
Bournemouth Municipal Orchestra, no venue (1949)
Winter Gardens, Bournemouth, “An evening of song” (1949)

The collection also contains a small amount of press cuttings, as well as portraits of performers – largely theatrical.
