Description A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann Collection. The collection contains programmes from concerts given outside the United Kingdom and were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The concerts took place in Dublin – or venues which are likely to be located in Dublin. Though there are two nineteenth-century programmes in the collection, the majority of programmes are from the second half of the twentieth century. The Royal Dublin Society are responsible for a number of concerts represented in the collection.

Theatre Royal (2); Royal Dublin Society, Member’s Hall, Ball’s Bridge; Exhibition Palace.

There is a festival programme from the Dublin International Festival of Music and the arts, 1959. There is a programme from the Royal Dublin Society Exhibition in 1864, where the venue is not stated.

There is also a programme from a concert held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Though the city is not mentioned, this is likely to refer to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. There is a programme from a concert given in the “Capitol Theatre” in 1946. Though the geographic location of the concert is not known, it is likely to refer to the Capitol Theatre which was located in Dublin. The concert was organised by the broadcasting organisation “Radio Éireann”.
