Description
A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann Collection. The collection contains programmes from concerts given outside the United Kingdom and were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).
The collection contains programmes from the following countries: Singapore, Sri Lanka, Turkey, China and Japan. The collection also contains programmes from the West Indies – namely, programmes from Jamaica.
The venues represented in the collection include the following: Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore; Great Hall of the People, Beijing, China; Pier Stage, Haruno Town, Japan; Royal College Hall, Colombo [Sri Lanka]; Ward Theatre, Kingston, Jamaica (3).
In addition, there is a programme from a conference held in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). There is a programme from part of the series “The World of American Women Composers”. The programme forms part of a “Japanese Tour” by Selma Epstein, but the geographic location and venue of the concert are unspecified. There is a programme from a concert organised by the US Information Service and American Consulate of Adana, Turkey, where the venue is unspecified.
