Description
A collection of programmes from the Shaftesbury Theatre. The collection contains a few newspaper reviews. Though the collection extends as far as 1974 (as of 2005), the bulk of the collection dates from 1915 and 1916. The programmes from 1915 and 1916 are almost exclusively from opera performances, and virtually all are “Opera in English” productions. Other programmes in the collection relate to performances of musicals, plays and operettas. The collection also contains a programme featuring a performance by Noel Coward at the age of 16, in a performance of “Light Blues” (a musical play/musical?).
