Description A collection of programmes from musical performances in open-air venues. The collection contains multiple programmes from performances in Battersea park, Holland park and Hyde park in particular. Original programmes date from 1919 onwards, but the collection also contains a Photostat of an 1834 programmes from the Royal gardens, Vauxhall. A whole gamut of performance genres are covered, including bandstand concerts, choral concerts, plays, opera and ballet. Holland park is represented by Holland park opera, with programmes from 1964 onwards. There is also a programme from a choral concert given in Hyde park on Empire day (24th May) 1919: this programme advertises a "Chorus of peace and thanksgiving" of "10, 000 voices". There are a few newspaper reviews of Holland park opera performances at the end of the Holland park section.
