Description
A collection of 160 programmes from concerts given in Chelsea Town Hall. The collection dates from 1910 to 1973, but a substantial amount of programmes are from the period 1945-1950. Within this period in particular, the Chelsea Music Club was the predominant organising body for concerts. The collection contains a mixture of concert-types, including chamber and orchestral. The chamber music programmes are often from string quartets. Various orchestras played at the hall, including the Boyd Neel Orchestra. In the post-1950 part of the collection, there are a few programmes from performances of opera.
