Description
A collection of 20 programmes and word books from St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, from 1847 to 1988.
The earliest programmes in the collection are two word books from a performance of "Athalie" given on 1 January 1847. The performance was conducted by Mendelssohn. Apart from a sheet giving the words of the vocal music sung at the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandra of Denmark on 10 March 1863, the remainder of the collection dates from 1911 onwards.
The programmes are from services, choral concerts and orchestral concerts. The collection includes a number of programmes from the "Festival of Church Music".
