Description
One programme from a concert given in Whitby, in 1889. The concert is described as being given on the River Esk. The concert consisted of choral items and band items - including excerpts from the Water Music (Handel). The concert was given by the West Cliff Saloon Band, under the direction of Mr. H. Barraclough, with local choristers conducted by Mr. Hallgate and Mr. T.J. Hoggett. The concert was preceded by a performance by the Band of the E.Y.A. Volunteers on the West Pier.
