Description A collection of 29 programmes and prospectuses from Watford, from 1924 to 2001. The majority of items in the collection relate to performances given in the 1930s and 1940s.

The collection includes a significant amount of programmes from concerts given in the Town Hall. These are largely from orchestral concerts, but include programmes from choral concerts and solo recitals. The orchestral concerts represented in the collection from the 1940s are largely from visiting orchestras, chiefly the London Philharmonic Orchestra; later material is largely from concerts given by the Watford Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, under the auspices of the Watford Philharmonic Society.

Other venues represented in the collection are as follows: Cassiobury Park; Methodist Church, Queen's Road; Plaza Cinema; Small Town Hall; Watford Grammar School; Watford Grammar School for Girls; Watford School of Music, Assembly Hall.

In addition, there are programmes where the venue has not been indicated. The programmes are from concerts given by the Watford Music Club or concerts which were given as part of the Holst-Elgar-Delius Festival in 1935.

The programmes are arranged by venue, then chronologically; programmes which do not specify a venue are at the end of the sequence.
