One festival programme from the Tercentenary Festival of the Birth of Shakespeare, from 1864. The festival took place from April 23 to May 2. The festival took place in a number of venues in Stratford-upon-Avon, including the Town Hall, Pavilion, Holy Trinity Church and Shakespeare Rooms. In addition, the festival included a visit to Charlecote. The festival included concerts based on Shakespeare's texts, a performance of "Messiah", play readings, staged performances of Shakespeare's plays, church services, a fancy dress ball and a display of artwork.
