Description A collection of five programmes and concert diaries from Stamford, from 1840 to 1995.

The earliest item in the collection is from a concert on September 16 1840. The collection includes a photostat of the programme. The concert was given in the Assembly Rooms and was entitled "Grand Morning Concert". The concert included performances by Liszt, who played his own compositions. Other performers included the pianists Mr. Mori and Mr. Richardson, as well as the vocalists Mlle. De Varny, Miss Louisa Bassano and Mr. J. Parry. Piano accompaniment and conducting was provided by Mr. Lavenu.

The other items in the collection date from 1981 onwards, and are from concerts given in the Stamford Arts Centre and Stamford School Hall.
