One box of programmes from the Sheldonian Theatre, from 1919 to 1995.
The majority of programmes in the collection are from orchestral concerts or large-scale choral concerts. A significant number of programmes from choral concerts are from concerts given by the Oxford Bach Choir. Up until the 1950s, these concerts were usually accompanied by the Oxford Orchestral Society. After 1960, the programmes from Oxford Bach Choir concerts represent a number of different accompanying orchestras. In addition, the collection includes a number of programmes from “Oxford Subscription Concerts” – usually from concerts given by visiting orchestras.
