Description A collection of 61 programmes from the the New Theatre, Oxford, from 1909 to 1981. The majority of programmes in the collection are from the 1910s, 1920s, 1930s and 1970s. The collection includes a few press cuttings.

The collection mainly includes programmes from plays and operas. The collection includes the programme from the first staged performance of Irmelin (Delius), written in the 1890s but first performed in 1953. However, there are programmes from ballet performances and one programme from a concert (2 copies) - a concert given by the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 1937, and conducted by Toscanini.

The collection starts with a number of programmes from plays, performed by the City of Oxford Amateur Dramatic Club (COAD) or the Oxford University Dramatic Society (OUDS). From 1927, the collection includes a number of performances given by the Oxford University Opera Club. From the 1960s onwards, the collection is largely from visiting companies, including a number of programmes from Welsh National Opera, Glyndebourne Touring Opera and Sadler's Wells Opera.
