Description
A collection of 19 festival programmes, concert programmes and prospectuses from the Norfolk & Norwich Triennial Musical Festival, from 1890 to 1996. The festival is also variously entitled "Norfold & Norwich Triennial Festival", "Norfolk & Norwich Festival", and "Norfold & Norwich Triennial Festival of Music and the Arts".
The collection includes an overall programme from the 1890 festival, as well as two individual programmes from the 1896 programme and some fragments of programmes from the 1899 festival. The 1890 and 1896 festivals were conducted by Alberto Randegger.
The rest of the collection dates from 1927 onwards, though the majority of items are from the 1947 festival or from later festivals.
The festival took place in a number of venues in Norwich, including Norwich Cathedral, St. Andrew's Hall and the Music House (King Street).
