Description
A collection of eleven programmes from Newcastle upon Tyne, from 1906 to 1908. The programmes are from a bound volume whose binding has disintegrated and the programmes are now loose.
The collection includes eight programmes from the Newcastle and Gateshead Choral Union - orginally founded as the Gateshead Choral Society in 1888 - where the venue has not been specified. The programmes are from orchestral concerts and choral concerts. Visiting orchestras include the Scottish Orchestra and the Queen's Hall Orchestra, and conductors include Henry Wood, Hans Richter and Henry Coward.
There are also programmes from the Assembly Rooms (concert organised by the Chamber Music Society) and the Westgate Assembly Rooms.
