A collection of 13 programmes from the G-Mex Centre, Manchester, from 1986 to 1990.
The programmes are from concerts given by the Hallé Orchestra. The concerts are from the series "G-Mex Pop Classics". The concerts featured a variety of musical genres, including "light" classical music, excerpts from symphonic repertoire, film music, jazz and orchestral arrangements of popular songs. One of the aims of the concert series was to break down the "…unreal barriers between "classical" and "popular" music" (Manchester, G-Mex Centre: 11/7/1990; Radcliffe, Phillip, [Article on John Dankworth]).
