A collection of five boxes of programmes and prospectuses from the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, from 1996 to 2003. The collection contains programmes and prospectuses from 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001. In addition, the collection includes a few press cuttings, largely from 2002 to 2003.
The Bridgewater Hall opened on 11 September 1996, but the first programme in the collection is from a concert given on 9 October 1996. This programme is from a concert given by the Hallé Orchestra, as the first concert in the "Opus" concert series.
The majority of items in the collection relate to concerts given by the Hallé Orchestra. These are from individual concerts or concerts given as part of a multitude of concert series. Concert series represented in the collection include the following: Opus Classics; Thursday Series; Matinee Classics; Thursday Series; Saturday Pops; Sunday Specials; Opus One Series; Sunday Series. There are also seasonal events such as "Summer Music" and concerts given as part of the "Spirit of Christmas" series.
