Description
A collection of thirty programmes and prospectuses from Hastings, from 1878 to 1986. The collection includes a small amount of press cuttings - both reviews and concert advertisements.
The majority of programmes are from concerts given at the White Rock Pavilion, from 1929 to 1986. These include a few prospectuses a newspaper adverts concerning the Hastings Musical Festival.
Other venues represented in the collection include the Music Hall and Public Hall. The earliest programme in the collection is from a concert given on both 17/01/1878 and 18/01/1878 in the Music Hall. This concert featured the Royal Tyrolese Singers.
At the end of the collection there are a few programmes from concerts where the venue of the concert has not been specified. These include a programme from the Hastings Musical Festival from 1928, and a programme from a concert of part-songs and solo songs given by the "Glee & Madrigal Union" and "Excelsior Quartette" on 18 May 1880.
