Description
A collection of 47 programmes from Folkestone, from 1893 to 1976. The programmes are largely from concerts that were given in Leas Cliff Hall and Folkstone Techincal High School for Girls. Other venues represented in the collection include the Pleasure Gardens Theatre and the Arts Centre.
In addition there are eight programmes from military band concerts in 1893. Some of the programmes do not specify a concert venue; others specify that the concerts took place at Radnor House and the "Leas". The concerts feature a variety of different military bands, and were organised under the jurisdiction of the Borough of Folkstone.
There is a programme from the Bouverie Society, Folkestone, where the venue of the concert has not been specified.
Arrangement:
Programmes are arranged by venue, then chronologically. The exception are the programmes from the military band concerts, which are kept together at the end of the sequence.
