Description A collection of 17 programmes and prospectuses from Durham, from 1883 to 2003.

The collection contains programmes from the following venues: Durham Cathedral; Town Hall; Drill Hall. The collection contains prospectuses from the "Durham Twentieth Century Festival and Summer School" and the concert series "Music of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies".

The collection contains three nineteenth-century programmes from concerts given in the Town Hall, described as follows:

08/03/1888 - "Lecture-Evening Concert", on the subject of Tennyson, including spoken items and sung items.
06/02/1891 - "Evening Concert", a mixed concert but laregly featuring vocal items.
20/04/1894 - "Grand Evening Concert", a mixed concert but laregly featuring vocal items.

A number of programmes from the Drill Hall are from concerts organised by the Durham Musical Society. These programmes are from the 1905-1906, 1906-1907 and 1908-1909 seasons.

The programmes are arranged by venue, then chronologically. The prospectuses are at the end of the collection.
