Description A collection of programmes with words for three concerts given at St. James’s Hall, London, on 21 May, 7 June, and 11 July 1894 by the Wolff Musical Union, directed by Johannes Wolff.

These were concerts of vocal, instrumental and chamber music, including a large amount of French repertory.

All programmes contain analytical notes, with musical examples.

21 May 1894: Chaminade and Widor, including the first performances of Widor, Piano Quartet and Duets for Piano and Cello. The programme cites: Madame Wyman and Mr Eugène Oudin (vocal), Madame Chaminade and Monsieur Widor (piano), Johannes Wolff (violin), Monsieur van Waefelghem (viola), Monsieur Delsart (cello), Mr W.L. Barrett (flute), and Mr George Aitken (harmonium).

7 June 1894: Music by Saint-Saens, with a piece for solo viole d’amour by Marin Marais, given by Mr Eugène Oudin (vocal), Monsieur Saint-Saens (pianoforte), Johannes Wolff (violin), Monsieur van Waefelghem (viol d’Amour), and Monsieur Hollman (cello).

11 July 1894: Monsieur Louis Diémer (piano), Johannes Wolff (violin), Monsieur van Waefelghem (viola), with the celebrated wind quartet from the Grand Opera, Paris (Monsieur Paul Taffanel (flute), Charles Turban (clarinet), Mons. Reine (horn), and Monsieur Letellier (contrabassoon).
