Description
A collection of programmes and wordbooks for the eight concerts given at the Royal Albert Hall, London, as the Wagner Festival of May 1877.
Each concert consisted of selections from two or more Wagnerian operas (see below), with occasional orchestral works. All programmes provide extensive historical and analytical notes, including musical examples. The English texts also included therein are provided by Dr. Hueffer, Alfred Forman, J.P. Jackson and John Oxenford.
The concerts featured vocalists from the Bayreuth Festival: Frau Materna, Frau von Sadler-Grün, Fraulein Babette Waibel, Fraulein Elisabeth Exter, Herr Unger, Herr Hill, Herr Chandon and Herr Schlosser.
The programmes contain a complete list of the Wagner Festival Orchestra, led by Wilhelmj and conducted by Richard Wagner. Hans Richter and Edward Dannreuther are listed as conductors of the rehearsals.

12 May 1877: Tannhäuser and Die Walküre.
14 May 1877: Huldigunsmarsch, Lohengrin and Siegfried.
16 May 1877: Die Meistersinger and Götterdämmerung.
19 May 1877: Centennial Exhibition March, Tristan und Isolde and Götterdämmerung.
28 May 1877: Kaisermarsch, Die Meistersinger, Siegfried, Das Rheingold and Die Walküre.
29 May 1877: Huldigunsmarsch, Tristan und Isolde, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung.
