Description
A collection of ten programmes with words for performances given at New College, University of Oxford between 18 June 1846 and 22 June 1907, held loosely in a single envelope.
18 June 1846 and 15 June 1847, New College Hall: A Selection from Handel's Oratorio of Judas Maccabaeus/Handel's Oratorio of Samson (with very brief introductory notes).
21 June 1852 and 'Shrove Tuesday' 1863: New College Glee Club.
25 April 1876, New College Hall:
12 June 1883, 19 June 1888 and 13 June 1891: Commemoration Concerts. These were two-part concerts, in which the first part was devoted to an extended choral work, namely: Handel, Alexander's Feast; F. Corder, The Bridal of Triermain; and Sullivan, On Shore and Sea.
18 June 1904: New College Musical Society, with Mrs Douglas Scott (violin).
22 June 1907: New College Summer Concert (Choral and Orchestral) with Miss Mabel Price and Mr H. Plunkett Greene (vocal), including Parry, Symphony in F ('Cambridge') and C. V. Stanford, Songs of the Sea (both conducted by their composers).
