Description
A miscellaneous collection of programmes for eight performances given by the Reid Symphony Orchestra at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, between 1939 and 1942, held in a bound volume with a flyer for a performance by the Glasgow Orpheus Choir (conducted by Hugh S. Robertson), given at the same venue on 12 December 1942.
11 and 18 November 1939 and 16 March 1940: 24th season nos.1, 2 and 8, conducted by Dr Mary Grierson.
19 October and 2, 16 and 30 November 1940: 25th season nos.1-4, conducted by Mary Grierson (nos.1 and 3), Basil Cameron (no.2) and Leslie Heward (no.4). The concert on 19 October 1940 featured Solomon (piano) whilst that on 16 November included Ida Haendel (violin).
29 April 1942: with Alexander Carmichael (baritone) and the Edinburgh Choral Union, conducted by Sidney Newman (with notes).
