Susi Dell collection: Wigmore Hall programmes (2006)
Unique identifier
Mus. 321 c.1
Description
A collection of handbills and programmes for performances given at the Wigmore Hall, London, in 2006, being the sixth of seven boxes comprising the Susi Dell collection. This box also contains a souvenir programme for a Royal Opera House, Covent Garden production of Verdi, Macbeth, conducted by Yakov Kreizberg.
The Wigmore Hall programmes related principally to the Song Recital Series/Festival of Song. There is also material for the London Pianoforte Series (1 programme), BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concerts (3 handbills) and for a Lecture-Recital by András Schiff (1 handbill).
All documents include programme notes, with biographical notes and photographs. The programmes also include words for the vocal pieces and information about the venue.
Many of the programmes carry handwritten annotations, which provide Dell's observations on the performances, including a record of the encores performed. Some are held with press cuttings/printed reviews and/or concert tickets.
