Description
Programme and wordbook for the second Subscription Concert of the seventeenth season of the Stock Exchange Orchestral and Choral Society, given on 7 February 1900 at the Queen’s Hall, London.
This was a two-part concert, predominantly vocal, but with orchestral music at the beginning and end of each act. Historical and analytical notes, with musical examples, are provided by Edgar F. Jacques.
The programme lists the vocal and instrumental soloists and offers a complete record of the choral and orchestral performers: Miss Kirkby Lunn (vocal), Miss Marion White (piano), Mr Arthur W. Payne (conductor), Mr Munro Davison (choral conductor).
There are also lists of both the organizers and the members of the Society, and an advert, with programme, for the third subscription concert, to be held on 3 April 1900.
