Description Programmes with words and notes for the Monday Popular Concerts Classical Series, held at St. James's Hall, London, between February and June 1859, bound as a single volume.

These were two-part concerts of chamber music. With the exception of that on 27 June, each concert was devoted to the work of a single (or occasionally two) composer(s).

All programmes carry words and historical, descriptive and biographical notes. They begin with a short introductory statement about the series.
