Description
A collection of loose programmes and handbills for performances of Gibbons, Suite for Trumpet and Strings (arranged by Adrian Cruft), given at various venues in England and Wales between 1956 and 1985, including programmes for four performances given by Jennifer Bate (organ) and Bram Wiggins (trumpet) in 1978 and 1979.
The collection also includes a programme for a production of Sophocles, Oedipus Rex (with music by Adrian Cruft), given on 28 March 1946 at the Ensa Garrison Theatre, Calcutta. Held with this is a Press Release relating to the event.

9 February 1978, Malvern College Chapel: Malvern Concert Club 311 Recital (with brief historical and descriptive notes, plus photocopy).
30 September 1978, Town Hall, Huddersfield: Municipal Concert, given with the Pennine Singers, conducted by Anne Hoyle (with biographical notes, plus photocopy). This concert also included the first performance of Arthur Butterworth, Gabriel Sonata, short descriptive notes for which are provided on an insert.

Wednesday 22 June [no year], Birmingham and Midland Institute Concert Room, Paradise Street: Concert of Popular Classical Music given by the Birmingham Co-operative Amateur Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Gipps (handbill). This concert also included the first performance of Robert Austin, Summer Song.
2 November 1956, Nottage School Hall, Suffolk Place, Porthcawl: Porthcawl and District Music Club with artistes from the Cardiff College of Music and Drama, including Margaret Powell (soprano), Rhuanedd James (piano), Ivor Bosanko (trumpet) and Frank Kelleher (clarinet).

Collections Overview
Founded in 1883, the RCM Library primarily supports the performance, study and research of RCM members. It is also open to the public for reference and research. It contains some 300,000 items, including significant collections of early printed and manuscript material from the 16th to 19th centuries, given to the College upon its foundation, specifically the Libraries of the Sacred Harmonic Society and of the Concerts of Ancient Music. Donations since have included autographs of composers of international renown, amongst them Beethoven, Chopin, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert, as well as manuscripts and archives of major British composers. Although a British bias is apparent, the collection also has significant German and Italian manuscripts and early printed holdings. Later acquisitions of printed music include large quantities of out-of-print material, and sizeable collections of performance sets. Audio-visual holdings and the RCM's own sound archive's are also extensive.
