Description Programmes, with words, for concerts given at St George’s Hall, Langham Place, on 1 and 24 May 1899.

1 May: the first of three chamber concerts given by Misses Anna and Louie Lowe, with the assistance of Mr George A. Clinton (clarinet) and Mr A. E. Ferir (viola).

This was a concert of predominantly nineteenth-century German vocal and instrumental repertory, including vocal and piano solos (given by Louie and Anna Lowe respectively) and ensemble works for piano, clarinet and strings. The programme includes some historical and analytical notes, with musical examples. The document also includes handbills, with programmes, for the remaining performances in this series, given on 30 May and 13 June 1899.

24 May: Miss Tilly Koenen and Madame Fischer-Sobell’s Vocal and Pianoforte Recital, accompanied by George Clutsam. The programme includes translations of foreign texts
