A collection of handbills for performances of music by Handel, given by the Sacred Harmonic Society at the Exeter Hall, London, 1837–64 and 1871–76, held as a single bound volume.
Also, handbills for the Great Choral Rehearsals/Meetings of the Handel Festival Choir given on: 21 January, 15 April, 16 and 20 May and 10 June 1859, 6 December 1861, 7 February, 21 March and 11 April 1862 (preparatory to Handel Festival) and 13 February, 27 March and 4 December 1863.
In most cases, the entire programme was devoted to a Handel oratorio. In some instances, a short work was given in combination with a miscellaneous selection and/or other sacred pieces.
These concerts were conducted by Mr J. Surman (1837–19 April 1848) and Mr Michael Costa (24 November 1848–12 April 1876) with the organists Mr Miller (1837–19 April 1848), Mr Brownsmith (24 November 1848–27 May 1865), Mr James Coward (24 November 1871–27 March 1872) and Mr Willing (22 November 1872– 12 April 1876).

Collections Overview
The Gerald Coke Handel Collection is an internationally important collection of material relating to Handel and his contemporaries, including manuscripts, printed books and music, libretti, paintings and engravings, memorabilia, art works and ephemera. The Handel collection is open for research Wednesday-Friday, and the display room (with access to recorded music) is open with the rest of the museum Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.
