Unique identifier e.1402.a. (5.)
Description Programme and wordbook for a Royal Academy of Music Commemoration Concert, given on 17 May 1894 during the Academy’s seventieth year.

This was a programme of vocal and instrumental music by English composers previously trained at the Royal Academy, performed by past and present students of the same institution. The concert concluded with a Nautical Overture ‘Britannia’ composed especially for the occasion by A. C. Mackenzie (the current principal).

The programme provides a full list of the orchestral ensemble, led by W. Frye Parker, as well as brief historical/biographical notes on the featured composers. There is also an article entitled 'Short History of the Royal Academy of Music' (including photos) and extensive documentation of the Academy’s management and teaching staff.
