Description A collection of programmes and wordbooks for four concerts given for the Royal College of Music Patron’s Fund, held at various London venues on 6 December 1904, 9 March 1905, 3 July 1906 and 11 July 1907.

As befits the nature of the fund - founded by S. Ernest Palmer for the 'encouragement of young British composers and executive artists' - these concerts featured new works by native composers. All programmes provide an introductory statement regarding the Fund and a list of its patrons, as well as the names of the vocal and instrumental soloists and, in some instances, a lists of the orchestral performers. Each programme contains analytical programme notes with numerous musical examples.

The majority of the works were directed by their composers. Charles V. Stanford also appeared as a conductor from 1905.

6 December 1904, Aeolian Hall: Second Concert (Chamber Music), including chamber and vocal music by W.Y. Hurlstone, Frank Bridge, A.E. Trevor Bax, F.C.S. Carey, Percy H. Miles, Paul Corder, John B. McEwen and George Dyson.

9 March 1905, Royal College of Music: Concert Hall: Second Orchestral Concert, including orchestral, concerto and vocal compositions by William H. Bell, T.F. Dunhill, G. Molyneux Palmer, B.J. Dale and H. Balfour Gardiner.

3 July 1906, Queen’s Hall: Sixth Concert, including symphonic, concerto and vocal compositions by Cecil Hazlehurst, F.C.S. Carey, J. Speaight, H. Gibson, Thomas F. Morris, H. Balfour Gardiner and A. Carse, with Mr Arthur Bent (principal first violin).

11 July 1907, Queen’s Hall: Eighth concert, including orchestral, concerto and vocal music by Walter E. Lawrence, Thomas F. Dunhill, Montague F. Phillips, Beethoven, Fred. W. Wadely and George Dyson, with the London Symphony Orchestra.
