Description
A collection of programmes with words for the 3 morning and 3 evening performances given on 8, 9 and 10 September 1790 as the Norwich Musical Festival, conducted by Messrs Sharp and Beckwith.
The morning performances, given at St. Peter's Church, Norwich, were described as Selections from the Sacred Works of Handel. That on 9 September consisted of Handel, Judas Maccabaeus.
The evening concerts were held in the 'New Hall in St. Andrew's' [St. Andrew's Hall, Norwich]. Described as Miscellaneous Concerts, these were two-part vocal concerts with some orchestral and instrumental concertante items.
The volume begins with a list of the Patrons and Subscribers to the Festival.

Collections Overview
The Gerald Coke Handel Collection is an internationally important collection of material relating to Handel and his contemporaries, including manuscripts, printed books and music, libretti, paintings and engravings, memorabilia, art works and ephemera. The Handel collection is open for research Wednesday-Friday, and the display room (with access to recorded music) is open with the rest of the museum Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.
