Description
A bound volume containing single-sheet programmes with words for performances given at the Music Room, Oxford between 30 October 1815 and 23 March 1819.
These were two-part miscellaneous concerts, consisting principally of vocal/choral music, with occasional instrumental solos/concertantes and typically with an orchestral or choral piece at the beginning and end of each act.
The majority of programmes provide an indication of the vocal and instrumental soloists engaged.
Performance dates:
30 October, 6, 13, 27 and 28 November and 6 December 1815.
19 and 26 February, 4, 12, 21 (Mr Marshall's Benefit Concert) and 25 March, 6, 13, 20, 27 and 28 May, 25 and 26 June, 28 October, 4, 11, 18, 25 and 26 November and 9 December 1816.
11, 17 and 27 February, 3, 10, 11, 17 and 19 March (Mr Reinagle's Benefit Concert), 6 May (Mr Marshall's Benefit Concert), 18 June, 3 and 24 November and 3 December 1817.
9, 10 and 16 February and 2 March (Mr Marshall's Benefit) 1818.
11, 15, 22 and 23 March 1819.
