Description
A box of loose material containing programmes with words for performances given at the Oxford Music Room (Holywell Music Room) between 1814 and 1820. Also programmes for four performances given at other venues in Oxford between 1815 and 1860 and documentation relating to the Hampshire Musical Festival (1814) and Reading Musical Festival (1819).
All programmes are held loosely but are listed here according to venue.

1. Music Room
Unless otherwise stated below, these documents are single-sheet programmes with words. Concerts were two-part performances of vocal and instrumental music, typically with an orchestral/choral work to open and close. Where the performances was given a specific title, or was given for the benefit of a particular individual, this is recorded in parenthesis below.
1814: 28 February; 7 and 8 March (Choral Music); 22 March (Mr Marshall); 21 and 22 June (First and Second Commemoration Concerts); 31 October; 1, 7, 14, 21, 28 and 29 November; and 6 December ('for the benefit of the orchestra').
1815: 31 January; 6 February; 14 February (handbill only); 20 February; 3 March (Mr Reinagle); 13 March; 17 April; 24 April (Mr Marshall); 1 May and 8 May; 30 October; 6, 13, 20, 27 and 28 November; and 6 December.

2 August 1815, Town Hall, Oxford: single-sheet programme with words for a Concert of Music given for the benefit of Mr Feldon.
1 December 1848, Theatre: programme and wordbook, including a list of the principal instrumental performers, for a Grand Miscellaneous Concert, given by Mademoiselle Jenny Lind, Signor F. Lablache and Signor Belleti (vocal), conducted by Mr Balfe.
2 March 1852, Town Hall, Woodstock: programme for a Miscellaneous Concert given by Mr Marshall with Mrs Wilcox, Miss Farley, Mr Roberts, Mr Horsley and Mr Marshall (vocal) and Mr Marshall (flute) and Mr J. Roberts (piano), conducted by Mr J. Roberts.
6 February 1860, Town Hall, Oxford: programme for Mr James Russell's Grand Concert, with Mademoiselle Corbari, Madame Badia, Madame Fiorentini, Herr Reichardt and Signor Taglafico (vocal), Mr Brinley Richards (piano), Signor Sivori (violin), Signor Bottesini (contra-basso) and Herr Engel (harmonium), conducted by Mr J. L. Hatton.
3. Festival programmes
13 October 1814, St. John's House, Winchester: programme with words for a Grand Miscellaneous Concert (second evening) given as part of the Hampshire Musical Festival, led by Charles Weischell and conducted by G. W. Chard.
15-17 September 1819, St. Lawrence's Church, Reading/Town Hall, Reading: prospectus with programmes for the Berkshire Grand Musical Festival.
