Description
Programme and wordbook for Mademoiselle Marie Altona’s Vocal Recital, given on 22 December 1900 at the Salle Erard, London, with the assistance of Hans Dressel (cello) and Signor Clerici (piano).
This was a performance of vocal and instrumental solos, including the first English performances of songs by Tirindelli ('I tre Misteri' and 'Portami via'), Backer Grandhal, Léon Schlésinger ('Two Chansons Galantes'), Franz Servais ('Ophélie'), A. Holmes ('Dans les Boutons d’Or'), Liddle ('The Dove said: “Give us Peace”') and Rogers ('A Winter Song').
