Description Programme for the First Matinee given by the London Chamber Music Union at an unspecified venue on 18 December 1899, held with a Historical, Biographical, Descriptive, Illustrated Programme of two Chronological Concerts (Organ, Harpsichord, Spinet, Pianoforte and Violin), compiled and published by Carlo Ducci.

The programme for the Matinee provides a detailed list of the instrumental and vocal performers involved, including Mr Ernst von Dohnányi (piano) and Signor Carlo Ducci (conductor). It is accompanied by an analytical programme note, including musical examples, on Dohnányi, Quartet in A major, op.11, written by Joseph Bennett.

The Historical, Biographical, Descriptive, Illustrated Programme contains extensive biographical notes by Mowbray Marras and historical notes on the instruments written by Edgar F. Jacques. The former includes numerous photos of the composers being described whilst the latter provides various diagrams of the instruments. There are occasional handwritten annotations on the first article, commenting on the content and style of the prose.
