Description A collection of 39 programme books for Annual Invitation Concerts given by the Leicester Orchestral Union between 1879 and 1921, missing programmes for the period 1915 to 1920, held loosely with miscellaneous related material (including concert tickets and invitations).

Many of the programmes provide the texts of the vocal pieces, carry Analytical Notes and include lists of the orchestral ensemble.

The majority of the performances took place at the Temperance Hall, Leicester, with others being held at De Montfort Hall and in the Museum Lecture Hall.
