Description Programmes for two concerts given by La Societa Lirica, Belgravia at private London residences in 1876 and 1877 and for a single performance given at St. James's Hall, London during the 36th season of the Musical Union Matinees (1880), held as part of the John Ella collection.

All programmes exist as individual items, held loosely within a single envelope. The envelope also contains a printed circular communicating Ella's appreciation of his testimonial fund (1882).

1. La Societa Lirica, Belgravia
Both performances were given by an ensemble of amateur players, with the professional performers listed below, under the direction of John Ella. Both programmes carry words and notes, including a historical note on the development of the society.
29 April 1876, 31 George Street, Hanover Square (residence of Mrs William Playfair): Miss Landore, Miss Emily Moore and Mr C. Beckett (vocal).
2 June 1877, 16 Grosvenor Crescent, Belgrave Square: with Mr C. Beckett (vocal), Miss Day (piano) and Mr Lidel (cello).


2. Musical Union Matinée
29 June 1880: no. 7. This document includes a Synoptical Analytical (analytical notes with musical examples), a list of the performers engaged, and historical notes on the Musical Union and on Chamber Music in England.
