Description The prospectus with programmes for the first public series of Illustrated Operatic Concerts, given at the Steinway Hall, London on 27 February, 13 and 27 March and 10 April 1900 by the Operatic Studies Association, held with a separate programme for the first performance.

After a note explaining the didactic purpose of these performances, the prospectus provides a list of the operas to be illustrated during the season and a record of the vocal soloists engaged.

27 February 1900: Spontini, La Vestale
13 March 1900: Godard, Jocelyn
27 March 1900: Faccio, I Profughi Fiamminghi
10 April 1900: Goldmark, Die Konigin von Saba

Vocalists: Miss Augusta Osborn, Miss Clare Addison, Herr J. Zandero and Senor Guetary, conducted by Mr Waddington.

The programme for 27 February 1900 confirms that the first part of each concert comprised a lecture on the work in question given by Signor G. Mazzucato.
