Programme books for the annual programmes given by the Handel Opera Society (renamed Handel Opera in 1977) at Sadler's Wells Theatre between 1971 and 1985, conducted by Charles Farncombe.
Where no other indication is given below, these performances were accompanied by the Handel Opera Society Chorus and Orchestra.
All programmes carry information regarding the vocal soloists, a plot synopsis, some historical notes, and a note on the Handel Opera Society (est. 1955). Many also include lists of the chorus and, more frequently, the orchestral ensemble.
19-23 October 1971: Otto/Susanna, with the English Chamber Orchestra.
31 October and 2-3 November 1972: Jephtha, with the Jacques Orchestra.
1 and 4 November [YEAR?]: Scipio, with the Jacques Orchestra.
6-10 November 1973: Atalanta, with the English Chamber Orchestra.
29 and 31 October and 2 November 1974: Ariodante/Jephtha, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
22, 25, 29 and 31 October 1975: Alcina, with the English Chamber Orchestra.
27 October-6 November 1976: Ariodante/Belshazzar.
2-12 November 1977: Acis and Galatea/Ezio.
8-18 November 1978: Rinaldo/Semele.
24 October-3 November 1979: Scipione/Hercules.
5-15 November 1980: Esther/Ezio (to mark the 25th Anniversary of Handel Opera)
4-14 November 1981: Partenope/Belshazzar.
3-13 November 1982: Handel, Xerxes/Hercules.
2-12 November [1983?]: Giustino/Partenope
31 October-19 November [1984?]: Radamisto/Imeneo.
17, 19 and 20 [July?], 1985: Handel, Rodrigo (first production in Britain, given on the occasion of the tercentenary of Handel's birth and to mark the thirtieth anniversary of Handel Opera).

Collections Overview
The Gerald Coke Handel Collection is an internationally important collection of material relating to Handel and his contemporaries, including manuscripts, printed books and music, libretti, paintings and engravings, memorabilia, art works and ephemera. The Handel collection is open for research Wednesday-Friday, and the display room (with access to recorded music) is open with the rest of the museum Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.
